6 x 2.50 inch gift box svg for scal

Author: I was looking through a magazine and I saw a gift box and I thought, I can make that! So here is my attempt at replicating something I saw in a magazine. It is a gift box. I made it 6 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep. I am just trying to think of ideas on how to use this box so I can make more of them. I am thinking Christmas gifts, Mother’s Day gifts, birthday gifts and whatever special gifts I can get to fit inside. I think that it turned out very pretty. The svg, scut file and score and glue guide are all included in the zip file for download. Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you enjoy this download.
****updated 08-23-09** I received an e-mail (Thank you Nancy) of an error message that pops up in scal version 2.
I am not sure why the error is happening. The svg file is fine. I can load it properly in scal version 1. The scut file created in scal version 1 opens fine in scal version 2. If you receive this error message in scal version 2, you can hit okay. The box top or bottom will appear on the screen despite the error. The size for some reason will change to 15×15 inches so the box is to large to be cut on a 12×12 mat. It can easily be fixed by going to the right when you have the box top or bottom highlighted and change the size to 12×12 inches like the picture below.
The file cuts just fine even though scal 2 says that there is an error in the file. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please use the contact form on the right to send me a message.

I think that this boxes proportions would be wrong for what you need and if you tried to skew the svg file it would be difficult to get the top and the bottom to fit properly because the top needs to be slightly larger to fit over the bottom. I can try and make you one let me know what size you are looking for. Like a 5×6 box 1\2 inch thick for an A2 card box?

The box is great but the score/fold/glue page is greater. I print these and put them in a binder with a pattern print out. Being spatially challenged I really need this.

I think this will be perfect for all those little gifts you never have the right box for…jewelry, etc. If we get our grands a gift card I still like to wrap it just so they have a gift to open…just being a silly grandma..LOL.
