I Printed My Own Rub-Ons
A few weeks ago I picked up a package of Rub-Onz from Hobby Lobby. You get 4 sheets for $8.99. I used a coupon and got 40% off.
There is an entire sheet of instructions that come with it. Rather then re write them here, you can see the actual instructions included in the package here.
I opened a new blank inkscape document. I went to file/document properties and clicked on US Letter 8.5 x 11 and clicked okay. I purchased a few Christmas clipart packages from an online store. I went through the ones I liked and imported them into inkscape and re-sized them. I printed them (using best photo setting) on the rub-onz transfer film. I remembered to flip the HOHOHO but I forgot to flip the Merry Christmas Ornament.
The whole concept is that you attach an adhesive liner to the transfer film. Here is a picture of the HOHOHO where I cut it out of the transfer sheet and applied the adhesive liner.
The adhesive liner sticks to the transfer film and image and you just peal off the applicator sheet. What you are left with is the transfer film with the image printed on it and sticky adhesive over the image.
You just apply the rub on like you do any other. Sticky side down and rub back with applicator stick.
Here is what I ended up with. I just applied this rub-on onto plain white card stock and it turned out awesome. I am going to use some on my Christmas cards that I am going to make this year.

I love the rub-ons you made Beth. They are so cute. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs!
What a neat product! I have never seen this before adn it opens up possibilities… Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for posting this. I cannot wait to try it. I tried before with transparencies in the inkjet printer, but it just didn’t work right. This sounds way better. Thanks again!
