Christmas Candle SVG & Finished My Christmas Cards!!
Hello,
I have been busy finishing up my Christmas cards. I am so excited because I have tried for the past couple of years to make my own but I usually end up running to the store to buy some at the last minute to mail out. I am so glad that I can say, not this year!!!
Here are pictures of the cards I made.
It took a while to do but I am really happy with how they turned out. I used the Sending Holiday Cheer stamps from Hero Arts. I stamped the house on white cardstock with embossing ink, sprinkled Ranger Gold Superfine embossing powder on it. Heated it with the my Darice heat tool. Colored it in with copic markers and finished it with Crystal Stickles. Not all embossing powders are the same. I tried a brand that I picked up at Michael’s and did not get any where near the effect that I got with the Ranger brand. Definitely worth the effort to hunt this brand down because it gives you a nice gold raised embossed look. Exactly what I was looking for.
I used my Sizzix Stampin Up Top Note Die to cut the white pearl paper. I stamped the trees in Stampin Up Green Galore and sprinkled Ranger Embossing Tinsel (Bridal) on them and then heated it with my heat tool. I Stamped the Merry Christmas on it with embossing ink and used the superfine gold embossing powder on it and heated that as well. I used an 18k gold leaf pen (I picked it up at Joann’s with a 50% off coupon) to color the gold line around the top note cut out. I found that it was easier to use a small piece of transparency paper to draw the gold leafing out ot the pen and then used the pen like a paint brush to go around the outside. It helped achieve an even look doing it this way.
I attached the house to the card with pop dots and then used pink ATG to adhere the top note cut out to the card. Stamped the inside of the card with Memento ink (dried almost instantly). I have to say that I love love love the rock a blocks that I bought for stamping. I used the score line for a guide to line up the stamp. Rocked the stamp down and that was it. Perfect stamp every time.
Here is the Christmas Candle SVG that I promised. It did this in layers, so you should be able to turn on and off each layer when cutting it in SCAL2. The SVG, MTC (Make The Cut) and SCUT 2 (Sure Cut’s Alot) files are included in the zip for download.
I just wanted to say thank you for stopping by my blog. I love blogging and feel badly that I have not been able to post a lot of new files this holiday season. I have been working on a few files and will try and post them when I can.
A Couple Of Things
Sorry for the lack of files. I have been busy and working on a few other things. The biggest was a Christmas table runner that I made for my kitchen counter. My second sewing project! I really like it.
Here is the front.
The back.
I am really excited to have mastered mitered corners!
My husband’s Uncle is celebrating there 50th wedding anniversary. My husband asked me to make a card for them. I sort of feel like I have lost my mojo. Hoping the cold that I have is about ready to say good bye! I used a Cuttlebug plus embossing folder (He Loves Me) and made this card. I used gold embossing powder on the heart to emphasize there golden anniversary and set it with pop dots. I wanted to keep the card simple but add a touch of something so I added a few clear and red hotifix rhinestones.
I used some more embossing powder on the inside.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I will try and post some new files in the next few days. If you have any request, please feel free to leave a comment and I will see what I can do.
Cute Halloween Pumpking and Christmas Cards!
I fell in love with this cute little pumpkin. The SVG is in layers so you can turn off and on each layer as you cut in SCAL2. I think that this cute pumpkin is perfect for Halloween or even Thanksgiving!

This past weekend I got to take my second class at Archiver’s. It was a Vintage Christmas Card class, featuring mostly Tim Holtz products.
I love these cards, I LOVE TIM HOLTZ products, they certainly help make some awesome cards.
This is my FAVORITE!
These tags are going to be perfect for gifts! I am going to do these, they are so simple and easy. The stamps are Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Holiday Collections.
I have been pretty busy this week creating some files. I have a Halloween treat box, Christmas Tree Party Invite and a Cupcake Birthday Party invite that I will be posting soon so please check back!
4 Christmas Cards
This summer has been awesome! Having weekends off after working 5 years is super! I was able to take my very first card making class at Archivers. My friend and I just got back from the class and I wanted to share the cards that I made. On the first card, I had a slight problem with the embossing powder but I think that home made card are not always suppose to be perfect right? The stamps are all Hero Arts.
This is the card plan on making for my Christmas cards this year.
This card was so easy to make and so beautiful. The stamp is Starry Night. Artic Snow Shimmer cardstock, Royal Blue ink and Bridal Tinsel embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and silver embossing powder. Awesome and quick card!
I can’t decide which one is my favorite. I bought the stamps for the first and second card, but I am thinking about buying the third for a fail safe if I get behind on making Christmas cards.
Sorry for the lack of files this week, I have been spending some time with my sewing machine, trying to turn the cupcake svg I posted a few weeks ago into an oven mitt. I will be posting finished pictures later. Are you planning on buying the cricut imagine? It premiers tomorrow on HSN 11 p.m. central. Tim Holtz is also going to be on. They have a whole day of scrapbooking planned so you may want to tune in or watch them live on hsn.com.
Ticket SVG, Circus Themed Birthday Party Invitation
A friend from work is having a circus themed birthday party for her soon to be two year old son. She asked me to make invitations for her and this is what I came up with.
The invite is just under half fold size. I cut out 2 of the tickets and glued the inside left, right and bottom and left the top open as a little pocket. The birthday mom is going to make her own printable invite with date, time and place with a picture of her son in a clown costume and put them inside the ticket.
The font is the big top font that you can find by clicking here.
If you are like me and have trouble lining up letters I would suggest using a template. What I did was design the whole ticket in inkscape in layers. I imported the svg into SCAL2 and had all the layers turned on and cut the ticket. Once the whole ticket was cut out, I discarded the letters and what was left over was the ticket shape with the letters punched out. I paper clipped each corner of it to the ticket to hold it into place. Then after I put glue on the letters I applied them like I was putting a puzzle together. After I had the letters in place I removed the paper clips and the template and the letters remained intact and if I do say so myself perfect!!!
The clown is a rub on that I made myself. You can see a previous post that I wrote here about making your own rubons. The clown car I found searching Google images and it worked perfect.
You can download the ticket svg here. Happy cutting on your cricut
