I have a cool looking swirly flower nested design for you today.  The svg is in layers so you can turn them on or off.

I have been researching different cutting machines.  One of my passions is chipboard.  I love cutting wordbooks and other chipboard designs.  I bought a case of .022 12×12 chipboard from ULINE.  The cricut cuts this thickness okay.  It usually takes 3 to 4 multi cuts depending on how new the blade was that I was cutting with.  All the information I have been able to find on the cricut, this is pretty much the max thickness you can cut.

I have been asking Sherri from  http://thatsscrapinc.com/blackcatcutters.aspx lots of questions about the Lynx and Cougar Black Cat cutting machines.  I have been reading the specs and differences between the Lynx and Cougar.  The Lynx has a max cutting force or pressure  of 500 grms and was told that .022 chipboard usually cuts in 1 pass.  Wow how exciting is that.  So I was thinking wow, the Cougar has cutting force or pressure of 950 grms then it probably can cut thicker chipboard.  I e-mailed Sherri again (who is always fantastic about getting back to me right away) if she could point me to a video of the Cougar cutting chipboard.  Sherri contacted Christy from http://everdaylittlethings.blogspot.com and she did a video of the Black Cat Cougar cutting chipboard.  You have to stop by Christy’s blog and see this video. It is simply amazing.  A machine cutting chipboard that thick.  3mm 1/8 inch thick!!!!  WOW!!!!!   I can’t say that it is something that I will cut everyday but to be able to if I want to is a wonderful thing.  I have sold my Cricut Imagine!!!! Yes! and my Cricut Cake!!! Another YES!!!! making it possible for there to be a Black Cat Cougar cutting machine for me in the near future.  They are sold out right now but I don’t mind waiting.  It gives me some more time to clear some things out of “play” area that I don’t need or have not been using.

I wanted to say that I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves on my blog.  Almost 4000 comments, wow!  I wanted to explain that I had to turn on the Captcha plugin to try and stop spam.  The spam was becoming out of control even with a spam blocker!  I apologize, and I appreciate the extra time that you spend entering in a comment for me!!   I have also been asked by some cricut friends if I am going to keep my blog name or change it, honestly I don’t know.  I “want” to change it but I have worked so hard on it, it makes me sad to think about changing it….

I finished working on the glitter ball Christmas ornaments for my work so I thought that I would post a picture.  Everyone loved the way that they turned out.  I think that they turned out awesome!!!!

This past weekend Michael’s had ribbon 50% off so I picked up 3 rolls of nice silver snowflake ribbon for $1.00 each.  I am just awful at tying bows so I had to break out my bow easy that I picked up from Flip Flops and Roses.  This little tool makes tying bows easy and fun. Check out this video and you will see what I mean. I whipped out 21 of them in no time.

The Joann’s 2010 Black Friday ad is out.  I was a little surprised at the cricut cartridge prices.  They will have them for $27.99.  I thought they would be insanely cheaper like last year.  The cricut expression machine for $199.00 is not a bad deal but Menard’s is way cheaper and Wal-Mart has them in cool colors.  I have never shopped Joann’s Black Friday so I don’t know if they will carry a-lot of the expression or not.  2 years ago Michael’s had an awesome deal on the cricut expression but only had 4 of them!!!
