My Daughters Bowling Party Birthday Invites
My little girl is turning 4. Today she said she is a big girl and she is going to go to school on Monday. Then my 2 year old, not to be out done by his big sister said that he is going to school on Friday. Hey, if I had to pick a day of the week to go to school on, I sure would pick Friday :0. I can’t believe how fast they are growing. That is honestly why I have not been around my blog so much lately. I did get to finish up her birthday party invites today. She loves bowling so we are having a party at the bowling alley for her. I made cute bowling pin invitations for her party and I thought that I would share them.
I usedCri-Kits gel pens. I just love them. They are so easy to use and work perfect with Sure Cut’s Alot 2 or Make The Cut software. I used the Biscotti font. If you search my blog, you can find another post with a link to download it. I ended up taking Bazzill Smooth Cardstock and adhered white vinyl to it. Placed the 12×12 cardstock, vinylside downon the cutting mat. I used a pink Cri-Kit gel pen to write out the invite in Sure Cut’s a lot 2 and then cut it out. I know that you can’t really tell from the picture, but the white vinyl side, makes it look just like a bowling pin. I topped it off with a couple of strips of red vinyl. I think they turned out great.
Here is the SVG file. I could have made it wider, the choice is yours if you want to re-size it. I liked it this way, because it looked more like a real bowling pin.

Once Over The Hill SVG
Hi Everyone,
On Sunday my husband turned the big 40. He is not into big parties and stuff so we had a small gathering to celebrate his 40th birthday. Sunday was a beautiful day for a party. I was a little worried about mosquitoes. They are horrible this year. The kids have not been able to be outside and swing for the past few weeks because they were getting large red welts all over them from getting bit. Our neighbor recommended Cutter lawn spray. My husband picked it up from Menard’s. It attaches to a garden hose and you spray your lawn. This stuff works! Not one mosquito bothered our party and the kids were able to stay outside until 7:30 swinging and playing on the slide.
I had to kid him just a little bit about being over the hill so I created a vinyl cut for our patio door. Once Over The Hill You Pick Up Speed.
I also cut out a big 40 and put it on our patio door.
I included the svg and the scut2 file. The scut2 file is for a 12×24 mat.
Ticket SVG, Circus Themed Birthday Party Invitation
A friend from work is having a circus themed birthday party for her soon to be two year old son. She asked me to make invitations for her and this is what I came up with.
The invite is just under half fold size. I cut out 2 of the tickets and glued the inside left, right and bottom and left the top open as a little pocket. The birthday mom is going to make her own printable invite with date, time and place with a picture of her son in a clown costume and put them inside the ticket.
The font is the big top font that you can find by clicking here.
If you are like me and have trouble lining up letters I would suggest using a template. What I did was design the whole ticket in inkscape in layers. I imported the svg into SCAL2 and had all the layers turned on and cut the ticket. Once the whole ticket was cut out, I discarded the letters and what was left over was the ticket shape with the letters punched out. I paper clipped each corner of it to the ticket to hold it into place. Then after I put glue on the letters I applied them like I was putting a puzzle together. After I had the letters in place I removed the paper clips and the template and the letters remained intact and if I do say so myself perfect!!!
The clown is a rub on that I made myself. You can see a previous post that I wrote here about making your own rubons. The clown car I found searching Google images and it worked perfect.

Birthday Candle SVG for SCAL
Here is a birthday candle svg for SCAL, sure cut’s alot. My daughters birthday is at the end of the month. I am going to use my cricut cake machine to decorate her birthday cake. I ordered some Sugar Veil from amazon, it was the cheapest place I could find a 1 pound powder package of it. I am on vacation next week so I will have plenty of time to practice. If I mess up to bad I will have time to order her a cake. Her birthday falls on Memorial Day this year!
Not sure what Sugar Veil is…check out this video from YouTube. I will let you know what happens when I try it next week.
