The CHA Supershow
My friend Lana and I had a great time Saturday at the CHA SuperShow. My favorite booth that I absolutely had the most fun at was…. Crafter’s Companion (CC for Short) The person who did our card demo with us was so amazing.
She started us out with the Rock A Block. This is amazing. I have seen it on HSN but until you try it in person, you just won’t believe the difference from the block stamping method and the Rock A Block method. Large or small stamps, stamp ink so well and with out smudges or having to worry about putting pressure on the stamping block. I figured I could always stick a smaller stamp on the larger block, so I decided to get the large Rock A Block set.
We created this card above in the demo. We attached it by using the repositionable adhesive in the large purple can. It stays repositionable for 2 minutes and then sets firm. Then they had cut a mask out of the bear stamp where you only see the balloons and we laid the mask over the card and sprayed it with the iridescent spray and the balloons looks so lovely and sparkle and twinkle. I can’t wait to try this spray on angels, cupcake tops, snow and anything else I can think of.
The sparkle is hard to see but is is sooooo lovely.
Papertrey Ink was my next favorite booth to visit. I really wanted all of there stamps because they are just so darn cute, and they gave you a free pen, paper and pink bag!
I got the Holiday Signature Greetings stamp set. These are going to be perfect for Christmas Cards!!!! Dawn Mc Vey has another set just called Signature Greetings that I wanted but they were all sold out
When I watch Youtube videos, I allways see people with these accent stamps to put on the front of the card, I found some that I really like!
I made another card at CHA with the new Cuttlebug Embossing Plus folders. I got the heart one, I thought that it would always be nice for a wedding or anniversary card. They were not allowing us to ink up the folder on the demo so I am including the You-tube video from Kim @ CuttersCreek
Yes, I got to see the Cricut Imagine. They gave out the Cricut Imagine Sunglasses. They also sold the 4 new cartridges there. You got the cricut book free with the cartridge purchase. I totally scored the Rock Princess…. then to be sick to my stomach today when I got the e-mail from papercraftingpro.com has all 4 new catridges for $33.00 a piece now….ugh! I could have bought 2 of the cartridges from them for the price I paid at the CHA SuperShow!
The thing that I looked forward to the most, was my least favorite. I signed my friend and I up for the Sizzix ScoreBoard workshop. We got to the class to find a bag on the table with some supplies inside like glue and stamp pad. We were suppose to make a note pad holder (shown below) and check book and business card holder and each piece was in the bag already cut. I was kind of bummed out. How can you be in a Sizzix workshop and not even even get to use the Sizzix machine. to make matters worse they handed us our choice of pattern paper or mulberry paper to decorate with. I took the regular paper and had to trace each piece and cut it out by hand to cover the notepad scoreboard….. how dumb is that????? I don’t expect that they come with 20 or 25 machines so we each get our own, I kind of expected to share a machine with a group and take turns to cut our paper and scoreboard out. At the end I asked why couldn’t the cover paper be cut out on the Sizzix machine. I was told that it could, and she did let me cut the top scalloped piece of the check book on the one machine that was on display in the back of the room. I was just kind over and done with it at the point. I did not finish the rest of the it. The highlight of my Sizzix Journey was that on my way to the class I got to say hi to The Pink Stamper Robyn as she was heading to the restroom before she started her class.
I LOVE YOU Sizzix but I was sure disappointed!
The last thing that I was I have for you is not from the SuperShow. I got my Martha Stewart Cricut Cake cartridges in. I can’t wait to play with them.

Happy New Years!!!!
Happy New Year!!!! I can not believe that another year has come and gone. I am thankful for my family, friends and all the blessings that I have received this past year. I hope that 2010 finds you in good health with lots of happiness. Today is the 1 year anniversary of mytimetocraft.com. I am thankful for each of you for stopping by and spending a little time here.
I have decided to celebrate this past year by having a give away. The give away is 2 parts. 1 winner will win the entire blog candy give away.
Part 1
Yesterday I was shopping at Michaels and I came across the Sizzix Texture Boutique. I have the Sizzix Big Kick that I just love but decided since I had a 50% off coupon and the machine came with a bunch of new folders that I would get it.
I LOVE this little machine and so does my daughter. We had so much fun doing this together. I cut the paper and made the sandwich and she turns the crank. My sister stopped by today to wish us a Happy New Year and my daughter had a blast showing her how to use it.
This machine is so cute!
Here are the folders it comes with.
and more
In case you are wondering…. cuttlebug folders do work in it.
Here is a 5×7 christmas folder
Here is an A2 folder
I have some older Sizzix embossing folders and they work great as well.
Part 1 of the blog candy is this, brand new in the box, Sizzix Texture Boutique with 10 Bonus embossing folders. (The pictures above opened were of my machine, yours will be sent new in box, unopened.
Part 2
The second part of the blog candy give away is your choice *up to 800 point value* of 1 cartridge that is currently available on the www.cricutrewards.com site. You can pick the cartridge as long as it is in stock, I will order it and once it is delivered, will mail it to you. Due to the time that it takes to get the cartridge from the rewards program the Sizzix Boutique will be mailed first and once the cartridge is received it will be mailed in a second package.
Rules
Please share one of (leave 1 comment on this post) your favorite cricut projects, experiences or story from the past year.
One of my memories from the past year that is a favorite is on a Sunday, I was working on my computer creating a svg. I finished it and wanted to test cut it. My daughter and son were standing on the couch looking at me (my desk is in the living room behind the couch) I told my son that mommy was going to cricut. He got a huge smile on his face and said cric-cut, and would giggle and laugh. My daughter said she wanted to cric-cut too! I put a cartridge in and loaded the mat for her and let her push the button. She was so proud of the Hello Kitty head that she cut and ran to show daddy that she cric-cutted.
I will read through the comments and choose 1 winner on January 9th. Due to excessive international shipping cost this blog candy is United States shipping only, sorry.
Here is a Happy New Year svg to cut on your cricut.
