Bride Word Book Cut File Made With Cricut Story Book Cartridge
I had a request for this on my wordbook survey so I thought that I would work on this tonight. It is a Bride wordbook done with Storybook cricut cartridge only. I think that the Storybook font makes this bride book look very enchanting. I have some wonderful papers that I bought months ago at Joann’s that would be perfect. Top it off with the bind it all, it would be a perfect gift for any bride.
Cutting Fabric With My Cricut To Make A T-Shirt
I started with this pretty fabric that I got on sale at Joann’s. I cut it to the size that I needed and then laid the pretty side down against a towel.
My friend makes quilts and she said she uses heat n bond on fabric all the time. She said it was in the fabric department at Wal-Mart. Thinking that it was in the fabric section I looked all over for it. It turns out it is in the sewing section on the shelf. My friend picked this roll up for me and it was only $9.00 on clearance.
I cut down a piece to be just smaller then the fabric and ironed it on per the directions.
I placed the fabric design side up on my cricut mat.
I used a butterfly from the Storybook cartridge and cut it with my regular blade, max speed, max pressure MULTI CUT 2. I have a new blade, you may need to do a multi cut 3 if you are using an older blade or thicker material. It cut the butterfly PERFECT!!! No fraying our anything. This is not only perfect for T-Shirts but anything like quilts or baby blankets wold be awesome as well.
After I pealed off the heat bond paper backing it leaves a shiny surface that is the glue that adheres the design to the fabric. I am using my Iphone for pictures since my husband has my digital camera, I am not sure if you can really see it but here is a picture of the back.
I did not want to spend a lot of money on T-shirts incase the fabric painting on another post, or this heat n bond experiment did not turn out. I picked up a cheap pack of 3t t-shirts to fit my daughter. I ironed the design on per the heat n bond directions. It turned out very nice. I wish that I would have used a higher quality t-shirts. The next time Joann’s has them on sale for 5 for 10.00 I will be there because it turned out perfect!
BABY Word Book I got Lyrical Letters
I went to Michael’s first thing Sunday to get the Lyrical Letters cricut cartridge since they have cricut cartridges on sale this week. I made my first word book with this cartridge and I am soooo frustrated. I did not think that the font update for Design Studio changed anything but my DS is acting up. I can not copy and paste a letter and then try and hide the contour. I changed the order of pages and when I save the cut file and open it again the pages are back the way they were before I saved them. I had to save the book with a different name, then open and correct the page order and then save it again before the changes stayed. I made the book using the square from the Plantin School cartridge and when I went to cut the book I would not cut the pages with the letters welded to the square. I gave up and made the book again with the Storybook cricut cartridge and Lyrical Letters. It cut fine so I have no idea what the problem was. I love how it turned out.
I was able to get everything to stay on this cut file except the center of the A page. You will have to right click on the center of the A and hide the contour in order to cut the page properly. I tried to cover it with a rectangle and weld it to the page but it would not work no matter what I tried, oddly the rectangle a the bottom of the page worked fine. If there is anyone that knows the secret or a trick to this please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
I ordered Hannah Montana and Sponge Bob from www.ohmycrafts.com on Sunday. I was a little bummed, first I was busy with the kids and by the time I got them down for the night on Sunday and did what I needed to do, I realized I forgot to order the cartridges. I had meant to do it on Saturday but I kept debating about ordering some other things. I ran down at 11:45 p.m. to order the cartridge with the 15% discount code and it had already expired. I found a 10% code on google search so it did not end up so bad. I got an e-mail today that they are back ordered on Sponge Bob, with any luck though I should have Hannah Montana by the end of the week. I can’t wait to get it and make something with it. I have been neglecting my cricut cartridges lately but I plan on dusting them off and putting them to work in the next couple of weeks. My son is going to be turning one at the end of August and I really need to start the birthday invitations now.
Grandbaby Cut file for Cricut Design Studio
I made this cut file for a reader and I am sharing it here. It was done entirely with the Storybook cricut cartridge. I am wasting a lot of paper and chipboard by cutting everything single thing I work on or create so I have decided not to test cut this file. I am sure that this will cut fine but if you do experience any trouble with this cut file please let me know. I personally would choose to hide the contour on the top of the R, the A,D,B,A,B,Y. If you would like to know how to hid the contours in Design Studio please see the video below.
Change Shapes In A Design Studio Cut File Word Book
I have several word book cut files available on my blog for download. I have used the rectangle from George and Basic Shapes cartridge for a few of the books. I received several request from people that love the word books and want to cut them but don’t own George. I put together this little video on how you can easily make a change to the book so that you can cut the file if you have the font cartridge being used and another cartridge with a rectangle or square on it.
